Beginning November 1, we will be streamlining our digital magazine services. Our magazine subscriptions will continue to be available through both PressReader and Flipster while access via OverDrive/Libby will be ending. Several titles previously available in OverDrive will move to Flipster, although not all titles will be available for us to purchase.
Why We Are Making This Change
This change will provide the largest variety of digital magazines in the most cost effective way possible. Previously, our digital magazine collection available through RBDigital allowed us to pick and choose titles, however, RBDigital merged with OverDrive and adopted an all or nothing model, which was too expensive for us to to continue utilizing. We aim to be responsible stewards of the funds we use to provide our services, so we have made the decision to put our digital magazine money into Flipster and PressReader. This will let us choose individual titles that our patrons would most enjoy and provide access to newspapers in addition to magazines. To help with the transition, some of our most popular titles are listed below:

Is there an opportunity to get Harvard business review in digital format through these services?

Unfortunately, Harvard Business Review is not available as a digital magazine from any vendor that provides services to public libraries. We do have a subscription to the paper magazine available for checkout at both locations.

While this is somewhat true, articles in PDF (and essentially the complete magazine) are available via the EBSCO Business Source series of databases. I actually found this post googling for Flipster costs, since I was somewhat interested in how much libraries pay for it. Fairfax County Library (in Virginia) offers a non-resident card for $27/yr which has access. They also have the aforementioned “all or nothing” Overdrive collection (via the Virginia State Library). Just an alternative for those seeking access.
