Special Courthouse Program

courthousefindsslideHas your genealogy research come to a halt because you feel like you’ve exhausted all the sources you know how to use? Make plans to attend our upcoming genealogy program, “Courthouse Finds,” on Thursday, September 15 at 7 p.m. at the Aspen Drive Library meeting room, 7-1 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills. Tina Beaird, popular and well-known genealolgist, will introduce us to the myriad of records in court houses that can open doors and break down brick walls.  Probate files, chancery cases, land sales, and property sales are just a handful of the types of records one can find in your local courthouse. Beaird will give us tips on how to prepare for a courthouse research trip and strategies for finding and interpreting these records. Register from the Cook Library website or call 847-362-2330.
